Safety Information
Safety of your children is one of our major concerns and we strive to make sure that your child always has a safe
environment in which to learn. We have established the following policies to further assist us in making your
child safe while they are in our care.
Discipline
Your child is encouraged to work through her own problems by developing understanding and communication. When a
child loses self-control, she will be asked to sit aside for a short time, where she may observe the other children.
If repetitive behavioral problems occur, the teacher will contact the parents to discuss the situation.
If The Dallas North Montessori School, Inc. determines that a child's behavior is compromising the quality of
education for other students, alternative placement for the child will be suggested.
Personal Possessions
Children may not bring toys, money, gum or candy to school. These items may at times pose a danger to young children.
If your child has a separation problem with a special object, your child's teacher will work with you and your child
to make this transition simple and happy.
Clothing
To avoid unnecessary confusion and to prevent loss of clothing, all outer clothing must be labeled with the child's
name.
If your child is under four years of age, please have him bring a complete change of seasonal clothes, properly
labeled. These will be stored at school in case of accidents.
Release of Children
It is our policy not to release any child without prior written notification. A valid driver's license must be
shown by the driver who picks up the child. The driver may be asked to state the child's middle name. Your child
will not be released to anyone other than persons listed on the Release Form without written parental permission.
Bad Weather Closing
In the event of inclement weather listen to your radio or television for school closures. You will also be
contacted by our staff or volunteer parents who have offered to call others in the event of school closing.
